ONLY FAIR WAY FOR ALL TEAMS! 7) Teams and Coaches are required to be at their scheduled to play Gym site 15 minutes prior to game time, even if we are behind schedule! If your team is not there and ready to play when previous game is over, on time or behind schedule, it will be considered a loss or forfeit of that game. NO EXCEPTIONS or EXCUSES 8) 1st Team on the Schedule will be Home Team and Official Book. Both Teams are required to keep a Score Book and sit at the Clock/Scores Table, in case of any differences in either score book, so they may be resolved immediately! 9) Game balls provided for tournament; practice balls responsibility of each team. 10) Each team has 4  timeouts to be used anytime during the game. Will carryover from 1st half to 2nd half. 11) There will be a 3 minute half-time. 12) Overtimes will be 2 minutes with 1 additional  timeout for each team. 13) 2nd Overtime will be cut to 1 minute, with additional  timeout for each team. 14) If a 3rd Overtime is needed it will be played as  Sudden Death , first team to Score, since we are on a time schedule and need to stay on it with NO ADDITIONAL Timeouts! 15) 5 minute period between games (Unless games are behind and needs to be shortened to 3 minutes) 16) Technical's (Coaches & players): A) 2 in a game  must sit out the next game. At that point, pressing stops until the lead is reduced to less than 10 points, at which time it may resume. 2) 5th grade Girls allowed to full court press the last 5 minutes of each half unless a 10 point lead/margin is reached, and then pressing is discontinued until the lead is reduced to less than 10 points. 3) 3rd & 4th grade Boys & Girls allowed to full court press the last 2 minutes of each half unless a 10 point lead/margin is reached, and then pressing is discontinued until the lead is reduced to less than 10 points. 4) 3rd & 4th Boys & Girls & 5th Girls will shout from the shorter Free Throw Line (12ft), for these groups we will be moving the players on the lane, down a spot, like the old free-throw rule used to be before, with 2 defensive and 1 offensive players on each side of the lane. (Some leagues allow only 2 players on each side of the lane, 1 offensive and 1 defensive, and the shooter was not allowed to be the first to touch the ball, which is hard for the officials to call, plus doesn t teach the players to follow their shot. So I am just going to move all players down a spot, as the rule used to be and make it easier on everyone, refs, players and coaches). 5) Game times are two, 20 minute halves with  continuous clock . Clock will stop for  Timeouts and  Free Throws only until the last 2 minutes of each half when it will stop for all regular officiating calls. (In the case of a 20 point lead/margin, it will not stop except for  timeouts in the last 2 minutes). 6) 3-Point Shot will not be used in thisyers, Your Parents, and Your Fans are here representing your Schools. Remember this is for the Kids and is not a NCAA National Championship Game, we all want to WIN, but someone has to LOSE, when only 2 teams play at a time! So PLEASE show GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP and RESPECT for the Players and Officials playing the GAME! 18) COACHES, if a Fan or someone there supporting your TEAM is asked to leave the Premises by an OFFICIAL or A MEMBER of MY STAFF (South Central Rebels Basketball) and they do not cooperate and do so! I encourage you to support me and asking them to leave and not return. If they do not do so, it could cost your Team to Forfeit that Game and be ejected from the Tournament and Future Tournaments I hold! Sorry for this inconvenience, but I have a good relationship with our School to hold this Tournament and will not jeopardize it due to an Upset or Outraged Parent or Fan. 19) Tie- Breakers will be decided as follows: 1) Head to Head 2) Least amount of Total Defensive Points given up in your Games Played 3) Coin Toss 20) ADMISSION: Admission will be charged separate for each day, Saturday and Sunday. This is done at all other Tournaments that we have checked in to and have set our prices right along with all other local and surrounding area 3, 4, 5, 6 grades Basketball Tournaments. The Prices will be as Follows: ADULTS - $5.00, STUDENTS & SENIOR CITIZENS - $3.00 and CHILDREN under the AGE of 5 are ADMITTED FREE. 21) Each Team will be allowed 2 COACHES & 1 SCOREKEEPER to be admitted in with the team Players. If you have more COACHES than that, they will have to pay daily like everyone else! Coaches and scorekeeper will be given a WRISTBAND to be worn for the entire weekend. If it is lost, then Coaches and scorekeeper will have to pay also! 22) NO OUTSIDE FOOD or COOLERS may be brought into the Facility or on the tournament site! Bottles of water and Sports Drink will be permitted. We have an onsite concession stand, with a variety of Warm and Cold Foods, Drinks, and Candies to be purchased while you are there playing the tournament. Only a few blocks from us, up town there are a few fast food restaurants that would appreciate your patronage too! Hope you understand the reasoning for this; it is a fund raising event for my Basketball Organization! 23) COACHES PLEASE EMAPHASIZE all our Tourney Rules especially RULES #16, 17, 19, 21, so there is NO SURPRISES when they arrive at the Tournament. 24) ALL GAMES are being OFFICIATED by Referees that are Licensed Jr. High and or High School Officials. So please respect them as so! 25) NO TEAMS will be considering in the TOURNAMENT or PUT IN THE SCHEDULE, until I have received ALL PAPERWORK and FEES (Entry Fees, Waiver Form, and School Attendance Verification Form). 26) NO BOUNCING BASKETBALLS in Gym Lobby or Hallways due to the amount of Glass and Breakable things! THIS IS OUR SCHOOLS RULE and MUST BE ENFORCED! The person will ONLY be asked ONCE and then after that the BASKETBALL will be TAKEN and given to the COACH of the person dribbling the ball in the restricted area! There actual VIDEO cameras watching to see if we enforce this RULE. These little rules are a factor in the decision if we get to use the GYM from year to year! 27) PLEASE RESPECT EACH OTHER AND OTHERS AROUND YOU EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT WITH YOU OR ROOTING FOR THE OPPOSING TEAM! WE ALL SEEM TO LOSE TRACK OF WHAT THIS IS ALL FOR AND IT S FOR THE KIDS! WHEN WE ACT OUT AS COACHES AND ADULTS, THE KIDS SEE IT AND RESPOND TO IT! THIS IS NOT THE LESSONS AND THINGS WE WANT OUR KIDS TO DO OR GROW UP DOING, SO PLEASE RESPECT THE GAME AND WHAT IT MEANS TO ALL OF US THAT LOVE IT!!!!!! 28) There will be Different Staff on site that can be reached if needed and you will be informed on how to recognize them or whom they are on the day of the Tournament 29) I will be on Site for the Entire Tournament, if you need to reach me! I love to coach and watch a good game of Basketball and 5 million question can distract that, but no question is a wrong question, just if not major one please see the staff! *I am truly sorry for having to list so many rules, regulations, and stipulations, but there are some Coaches, Parents, Fans, and etc. that treat these KIDS and GAMES as if they are playing for the National Championship. This list has grown from just a few things to what it is and I will have missed something and someone will complain, argue or make some big deal of some rule or something that has been left off, so every year for the past 9 yrs. I know some of you will laugh at this, but it is true and until you run a tournament or event and have to deal with multiple request, problems, issues, complaints and etc. you will know what I mean, by People take this all way to serious! So Please Respect the Game and its Future Athletes! **I have been running this tournament for 8 years and we have had no major problems, had a few minors and some friendships made and lost, but it has grown to be a Tournament that everyone around the area for at least 30 miles in every direction looks forward to playing in and I look forward to putting on and seeing all the up and coming talent!
